Here are a few ways for you and your family to learn more about your hospital’s performance on common safety and quality measures.

Additional resources to help you learn more about your condition and safe hospital care include:

The National Patient Safety Foundation provides checklists to help you receive the right diagnosis, safety transition from the hospital to home, take medications safely, and understand important patient safety issues.

The federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, or AHRQ, also has developed free guides for consumers that summarize the latest evidence about the benefits and risks of treatments for different health conditions to help you work with your physician to make the care decisions. These can be downloaded in English or Spanish on the AHRQ website.
